Today I got up with the intention of getting work done, and the only thing I could think of to write was about morning prayers. I became a Baha'i at the age of seventeen and so my main source for prayers is the Baha'i prayerbook. There are some fantastic prayers there, some short, some slightingly longer... one prayer especially to say at the dawn hour.
So I wrote my heart out about those prayers, found some awesome YouTube Baha'i morning prayer and song videos, and in the process said some of the prayers. (That's so good for me.)
Saying prayers in the morning is a great way to be balanced at the beginning of the day. I see spiritual balance as being in part recognition of the Divine Source in comparison with us and our busy on-earth and in-earth lives. We get so wound up with daily cares, things we're thinking about... this and that. You know, busy, busy, busy! So devoting time to thinking about God first thing in the morning puts it all into perspective, and that's what so many of us need.

Did you say your prayers this morning?

My definition of spirituality
My spiritual path has wandered quite a lot over the years - from confused non-religious child, to budding spirituality cropped off before it could bloom, to an amazing awakening that joined me to a one-religion path for thirty years, to a life of service cut off from that religion, to my current swim in the ocean of knowledge buffeted by waves of religious fervor - none of which take me down. I've been analyzing my heart in an attempt to define spirituality and come up with an awareness that creativity is my expression of spiritual awareness.
Not hours spent in prayer on aching knees.
Not journeys through the OOBE worlds of light.
Not submission to an impassioned and financially needy religious authority.
Not guilt and apologies for my lack of perfection.
Yes - it is creativity that brings me close to the Source. The Source of all creativity, the banner of light, the one who formed this world and created each creature in it - that amazing creative energy people worship by many names.
What better way to acknowledge its impact on our hearts than to engage in creative pursuits aimed at glorifying it?

Spiritual Masters I'd Like to Interview for a Book
Conscious TV Videos...
I should watch more of these.Tonight I'm watching Catherine Ingram..
She wrote a book about great (and famous) spiritual teachers who were influenced by Gandhi.
It made me think about what spiritual teachers would I like to interview if I was writing a similar book.
I'd start with Jo Dunning - that's definite. She's been a beautiful inspiration for me.
Hmmm...
1. Jo Dunning
2. Yogiraj - Kriya Yoga Master
3. A member of the Universal House of Justice
4. Raymon Grace - energy dowser and healer
5. Antera of Soul Evolution (I've been to the pyramid at her home, and was very happy with the healing I received there from spiritual guardians of the pyramid. She wasn't home that day but someday I'll probably meet up with her.)
I'm not sure who else I'd want to interview. I'll definitely be thinking about this, and adding to the list from time to time. So far the list is limited to people who have had a big impact on my life; Yogiraj made the list because Paramahansa Yogananda came to me in a dream... I'm not actually enlisted as one of his devotees.

Vibrations and Penney Peirce
Absolutely Vibrational!
I recently decided to learn more about Amazon Kindle as I may someday want to use the format for self-publishing my literary works of art. I downloaded the free "Kindle for PC" but after experimenting with that a while I know I'd love to buy the new low-cost KindleAnyhow, I downloaded a fascinating book about vibrations by Penney Peirce - Frequency: The Power of Personal Vibration
Of course all you who took physics classes in college already know this, most likely, but I'm learning things I wasn't aware of and am rather jazzed about the whole thing. Later the book will delve into helping us understand our personal vibration, and how to change that... which I understand intuitively, but not in the scientific version.

Channeling Angels
Archangel Oracle Cards
I've been using these cards for about six months now. I find them to be comforting, inspirational, and illuminating. They give me answers that empower and inform. Often the cards give me courage to go ahead and do what I know needs to be done. Also the cards help me remember I'm not alone. When we need help, the archangels are always there so long as we remember to call on them for assistance.
When I do a reading, I choose three cards, then take a few minutes to channel a personal message from each of the angels. I get some warm, encouraging messages that way, and ... it just feels good, to be aligned with their energies!
